PitchMark IP Clinic #4: IP & Contract basics

Event date 5 August 2022 17:00 – 18:00

Location Zoom

What makes a good contract, especially when it mainly concerns the licensing, usage or transfer of IP? Regardless of whether you’re a designer or start-up founder, you’re going to learn a few things from our IP experts and partner lawyer Nathan Wood about how to put together a contract that works for all parties in this webinar.

A contract is nothing more than an enforceable agreement between willing parties. Learn more about:

• The nature of IP and contract rights
• Contract negotiations as a function of leverage and clout
• Contracts can also specify remedies for breaches between the parties.
• Work-for-hire provisions and employment agreements
• Recapture/limitation provisions in IP assignments (e.g. transfer)
• Contract can relate to presently existing IP or to IP to be created in the future
• Confidentiality provisions
• Concept of reasonability
