China's Tencent has won an appeal to trademark its notification beeping sound on its social media services, making it the first company to be granted a sound trademark registration through a judicial proceeding in China.

Eminem wins lawsuit for sound-alike song used in political ad

Eminem has won a lawsuit against a New Zealand political party for using a sound-alike song that is too similar to the rapper's hit song, Lose Yourself, in their political advertisement in 2014. The National Party has appealed for the damages to be reduced and will pay NZ$225,000 instead of NZ$600,000.
