If you participate in tenders, you may have encountered onerous IP clauses hidden within dense legal language. These clauses often involve terms like Foreground IP and Background IP, and appear to grant the client extensive rights over your intellectual property, sometimes at no extra charge and in perpetuity.
Frank Rittman will explain how to interpret these clauses, identify what is acceptable, and what to do if it isn't.
